SHEQ Technical Assistant (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) / Nottingham / £21,589 (rising to £22,911 after a year)
Our client is seeking to appoint a SHEQ Technical Assistant who will provide a proactive and efficient administrative/scheduling service. This person will work in partnership with the Business Managers and Engineers to ensure that standard operating procedures are in place and colleagues are trained on how to follow these. Assisting the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager so that there is a robust link between HSE requirements of the business and compliance with all legal and regulatory issues
-Working closely with all stakeholders
-Monitoring and reporting of accidents, incidents, near misses, and lessons learned, to assist in the production and - implementation of all necessary recording systems for health and safety and ensure their maintenance.
-To assist in the embedding of all aspects of health and safety monitoring, advising and preparation of documentation to support the front line operation.
-Providing advice and guidance to business managers on how to create safe working practices
-Designing, implementing, and managing procedures to monitor key performance indicators and reporting
-Administering and maintaining the SHEQ project plan in accordance with version control requirements
-Recording and managing incoming/outgoing mail using Excel data and mail entry systems
-Providing support in monitoring performance systems and reporting outputs
-Co-ordinating outstanding responses to incoming mail and assisting the project team in ensuring that corporate standards are met
-Organising, monitoring and maintaining files of the team's correspondence, records, and mail, etc, following up on pending matters, responding to and redirecting items as necessary
-Working with colleagues, customers, and suppliers to ensure that their project inputs are appropriately scheduled and delivered
-An Environmental degree is an advantage although not essential
-Previous Health and Safety Administration experience is essential
-Experience of data management and data quality control
-Strong organisation and communication skills
