Job description


We have an immediate temporary requirement for a Subcontract Manager to work on our client's Offshore windfarm tenders
The SC Manager shall be responsible for monitoring of all site-based construction and commissioning project activities. You will also provide Construction engineering to contribute to targeted tenders to support the bid management team for tenders, and will be fully responsible for coordination with customer representatives to ensure client compliance & satisfaction as per the contract.
During ITO, for major and complex projects, lead the definition of Subcontracting strategy and Scope assignment:
- Contractors mapping
- Contractor pre-selection
- Contractor meeting, Scope of work presentation, building strategy
- Scope identification, Design and Build, Civil, EM erection, Com, Site facilities…
- Define a Division of Responsibility (DOR)
- Support Contractual scheme: Exclusivity, Consortium…
- Risk identification and sharings
- Contractual alignment with Main Customer contractual terms and conditions
- Integrated schedule
- Cost benchmark and analysis
- Lead regular meetings and report
Lead integration of the Construction Contractor into the Tender studies toward competitive and successful bid submission
The construction Subcontract Manager will be the focal point for the Construction Contractor, for any interfaces: technical, scope, contractual, organizational
The Construction Subcontract Manager will define with the bid manager and other functional leaders a limitative list of tender deliverables to be issued by the Construction Contractors, and will supervise their timely and quality issuance.
Skills / Qualifications:
* An appropriate qualification in Civil / Electrical Engineering and Commissioning, degree level with extensive work experience would be an advantageous but equivalent experience would also be considered
* Have appropriate health and safety experience, training and qualifications in line with international standards for roles of this nature to be able to identify and halt unsafe works
* Contract Management
Experience:
* Previous experience of undertaking the role of Construction and/or Commissioning Manager on a large EHV Substation Project. Construction experience in the UK/Nordics would be an advantage but is not essential.
* Have previous experience in Construction and Commissioning for Substation Projects in Europe preferably
* References in Offshore project is an advantage
* Have proven competencies and capabilities in following matters, not limited to:
o Safe execution codes and practices, Hazards in operation
o Constructability review
o Construction Engineering and Management
o Commissioning engineering and Management
o Subcontract mapping, Scope identification and packaging, RFQ technical
o Construction costing, Capex reduction, Risk identifications, Assumptions
o Subcontract Management, Coordination, Interfaces
o Pre-Construction studies, Construction methods
o Site Staffing, Mobilization and Temporary site facilities
o Site environmental studies
o Site preparation, earthworks, foundations, soils investigations
o Building architectural, Building services, Building structural
o GIS, 400kv HV Switchgear, Power Transformers, Filters, Valves…
o Scada, Controls
o Switchover sequencies
o Mechanical completion stage, turnover and start-up
o Scheduling, Sequencies, Resources planning
o Change management
o Budget control
o Customer relations, Contract terms application
* Project progress assessment and monitoring
* Change management
* Claim identification and contribution to
* Experience with stakeholders liaison, internal and external
