LifeArc is a medical research charity with a 25-year legacy of helping scientists and organisations turn their research into treatments and diagnostics for patients. The Role
The Opportunity Assessment Group (OAG) provides a central resource for LifeArc, researching and analysing the potential of new and existing biomedical opportunities. The team performs detailed scientific assessments as well as analysis of competition and intellectual property. OAG performs an essential role in helping to shape LifeArc's portfolio including in-house drug discovery and diagnostic projects, investment decisions by the Early Ventures and Philanthropic Fund teams as well as diligence to inform LifeArc's broader strategic direction.

Who you are:
We are looking for someone educated to PhD level in Life Sciences or with equivalent experience, with knowledge of drug discovery, diagnostics, intellectual property and life science business and a proven record of delivering successful project analysis. You will ideally have experience of assessing biomedical investment opportunities. You will independently perform all OAG diligence project work, ensuring that priorities are based on business needs and deadlines are met. You will collaboratively manage unconventional, long-term, OAG projects with strategic impact, establishing the rationale and timescales for such projects, managing stakeholders, defining processes, and identifying and managing resources and deliverables. Typically, such projects may include strategic investment opportunites for LifeArc and/or provision of diligence services for an external party. You will also apply in depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: drug discovery, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health intellectual property, due diligence for life science investments. As a people manager, it is expected you will take accountability for the performance of your team and work to ensure individual objectives are achieved.

Salary
Your salary will be determined by qualifications and experience. In addition, LifeArc offers a defined contribution pension scheme, private health insurance, a flexible benefits scheme and 31 days paid holiday per year.
