We are currently seeking two highly motivated and well organised flow cytometry sorting Scientists with a proven background in multi-parameter analysis and single cell sorting to join our expanding Antibody Discovery team at LifeArc. Both positions will be based at the Francis Crick Institute in London, but you will be working very closely with Scientists within our Centre for Therapeutics Discovery in Stevenage.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing numerous cell sorting campaigns and the running of single B-cell sorting experiments including complex data analysis to support various antibody discovery projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of projects between LifeArc and the Francis Crick Institute and will be interacting very closely with scientists within the Biological Research Facility and FACS Science Technology Platforms at the Crick, as well as other project team members based at our Stevenage site. Other responsibilities will include running routine maintenance procedures and troubleshooting of the cell sorting equipment, reporting data in a meaningful manner as well as providing assistance and training to new users. Senior Cell Sorting Scientist will also have line management and matrix management responsibilities.
We have 2 open position currently - Scientist someone with 3 years+ of lab experience & a Senior Scientist someone with 5 years+ of lab experience
- Practical lab experience in a Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Contract Research Organization, or academic laboratory environment working directly with small animals (rodents) and mammalian cell culture.
- MSc or PhD in biological sciences with industry experience with a strong emphasis on immunology
- Strong and proven experience in flow cytometry, especially with single cell sorting is essential (experience with BD FACSAria Fusion would be an advantage)
- Familiarity with various flow analysis software (e.g. FlowJo, FCS express or FACS Diva)
- Mammalian cell culture and multi-colour cytometry experience
- Experience working with blood and immune cells is required
- Excellent hands-on flow cytometry lab skills
- Excellent hands-on cell biology lab skills
