We are looking for a talented Quality Auditor (Gauge Lab) to join our team specialising in Quality Inspection for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry.


This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week. Shift are 6.45am - 2.45pm & 3.00pm - 11.00pm.


Salary is £25,851.00 - £31,550.00 depending on experience


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensures products received or produced meet technical specifications. Works under moderate supervision.

  • Verifies the final quality of products on the production line.

  • Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.

  • Separates products that do not have the desired technical specification, using basic and/or complex measurement techniques and equipment.

  • Documents products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems.

  • Trains others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming product and documentation.

  • Follows the norms and standards of quality defined by the Company.

  • Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

  • The Auditor will be required to work in a team helping to manage all aspects of gauge management from internal & external calibrations, sending gauges out and repairing when required. If these tasks aren't completed on time, then we could affect production.

  • Analyses measurement processes throughout the relevant trace ability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, "Metrology" e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.

  • Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organisation and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditation's are met.

  • Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
