Job description


We are looking for a talented Quality Audit Inspector to join our team specialising in Quality for our Components Business Segment in Huddersfield.


This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 3.00pm - 10.15pm


Salary for this is role is £25,700 - £32,100 depending on experience. Plus, shift allowance.


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Verifies the final quality of products within production.
  • Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Separates products that do not meet the desired technical specification, using basic and or complex measurement techniques and equipment.
  • Document's products that do not meet technical specifications through investigation activities using specified systems.
  • Records results and prepares simple technical reports for product audits, PPAP, capability studies and general inspection.
  • Operates programmable gauging for example, Coordinate measuring machine, form tester and vision systems.
  • Follows the norms and standards of quality defined by the Company.
  • Carries out patrol audits within manufacturing.



To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Apprentice trained, high school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education.
  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively.
  • Decision quality - Making good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward.
  • Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
  • CMM experience required.
  • Exposure to ISO9001, ideally IATF16949 or equivalent.
