Our Client is a leading telecommunications business based in the South East of England. The company currently require a talented Project Manager (Contract position) to join the business.
Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for overall management and coordination of project delivery within the UK and European region.
This is a key role within the team and will involve working with various internal teams and third party suppliers to ensure the delivery meets the expected requirements from our customers.
Overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of all phases of the project through to project closing.
Planning and coordination of project tasks, with all internal and external departments and teams involved. Control of resources and cost allocated to the project
Manage project teams in a matrix environment, to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled on time, to specification, within budget and to the customer's total satisfaction
Act as the responsible interface between the customer, the various company departments, vendors and any other stakeholders
Management of subcontractors
Produce and maintain project plans and ensure they are achieved
Manage and maintain project budgets, forecasts & P&L goals
Identify project risks, quantify and produce risk mitigation and contingency plans to optimise profitability and customer satisfaction
Providing Management reports on progress, milestones, risks, costs, billings and releases
Availability to travel frequently within the UK
University Degree, or equivalent in an Engineering, Business Studies, Project Management, or a related discipline Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2 certification or equivalent
Sustained Project Management practical experience leading systems implementation and delivery type projects. Ideally this will be in a telecommunications role but could also be from the armed forces or defence project background
Experience leading projects to the highest professional standards within scope, schedule, and budget.
In depth working knowledge of project management methodologies and be familiar with software based project management tools
Expert knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required, advanced knowledge of MS Project
Good financial skills and experience
Strong Stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all levels.
Sub Contractor management experience.
