Project Accountant, Cheltenham, 3-6 months, £45-50K (full or part time)
Toner Graham have a new opportunity to join the Cheltenham office of a FTSE listed company, on either a full or part time basis. The purpose of this role is to lead and roll out Finance team operational process improvements. The department objective is to ensure that all processes are robust and can be efficiently performed.
This project looks to investigate improvement of the integration of Concur expenses system and JD Edwards
Improving the reconciliation process between uploads
Working with Concur to improve the process for partner companies and multi-currency claims
Investigating the reporting options from Concur - including reconciling back to credit card stage of expenditure
Developing training material which supports compliance e.g. review of expense category mapping such as Customer Entertaining and Staff entertaining, treatment of VAT
Review and improve month-end processes including manipulating data in Excel sheets, and reviewing planning tools ahead of a major system upgrade and implementation
The overarching principles are to keep the existing processes simple, and easily maintained
The role would be required to work with existing team members and other Finance stakeholders to define and implement pragmatic process improvement solutions.
Migration of sensitive shared data to team share point sites - including setting up appropriate security that is scale-able and easily understood by users
Review of banking and reconciliation processes
Provide support to Finance Managers as required to support process improvement
Qualifications & Experience
The successful applicant will hold a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) together with demonstrable experience within the finance department of a commercial organisation with a solid understanding of the principles of accounting systems. You will have excellent communication skills across all levels of seniority, both from a financial and non-financial background. You will be analytical, pragmatic and process orientated demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.
