Job summary:
Our client is a molecular diagnostics company developing diagnostic tests in the fields of infections and oncology. The company applies its novel, proprietary molecular technologies to discover and develop new assays and diagnostic tests for a range of clinical applications. Founded by an experienced and highly successful leadership team, they have ambitious plans to grow from its strong foundations and become a leader in the field. The company is backed by leading venture capitalists and private investors and is currently developing its first commercial products. Our client is currently expanding its R&D operations and consequently has a new position available for a motivated scientist to join its laboratory team.
The Role and Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious scientist to contribute to the development and growth of an innovative molecular diagnostics start-up company. The successful candidate will perform a crucial role in developing and validating novel molecular assays for integration into diagnostic tests and devices and producing and characterising the associated reagents. The successful candidate would work in close collaboration with the existing laboratory research team and design engineers in a multidisciplinary environment.
About you:
Candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and have experience of standard molecular biology/biochemistry techniques (e.g. nucleic acid methods, cloning, PCR, protein expression & purification). Prior experience working in research and development for a company in the life sciences sector would be an advantage.
