Our Client is a leading engineering business based in the North East of England. The company currently require a talented Materials Planner to join the business.
The ability to liaise with multi-levels of departments within the business to acquire and plan the purchase of materials for the manufacture of products for our customers.
Key to this role is multi-tasking and problem solving. It requires the ability to resolve situations quickly, and supply Senior Management with options with which they can make timely decisions.
There is the need to understand how the site systems are integrated and/or if necessary suggest ways to improve them. In this role you must attend meetings with suppliers, customers and other departments.
You will have the ability to schedule, procure and expedite the management of materials, as required to support the manufacture and business requirements via the SAP ERP system.
A thorough understanding of the preparation of bills of materials (BOMs) purchasing strategies and the
management of materials throughout their entire life cycle is essential
Must have practical experience in Production Planning and have a functional expertise in the use of an MRP planning system, preferably SAP.
Experienced in production planning and scheduling for a manufacturing facility.
Ability to set priorities and evaluate financial impact.
Organised, have attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks as assigned.
Ability to manage high volume for materials in a rapidly changing environment.
With a high level of expertise in Microsoft Excel
Well versed in all aspects of plant safety related to materials handling.
