Job Title: Desktop Engineer
Salary: £12.59 per hour
Duration: 4 Weeks
The engineering team consists of 25 staff based in Schools, Council Offices and HQ. Our purpose on the account is to support the IT infrastructure of the Highland Council and to ensure that the customer has at all times the means to carry out their functions effectively.
This advertised position is to fill the role of Field Engineer (Desktop/Laptop Deployment) based of the Inverness area. The successful candidate will be part of a 5-7 person team. As we cover Schools and Council Offices throughout the Highland Region you will be expected to travel when required to these sites. For this reason, applicants will require a Full UK Driving License. They will be expected to be able to work well within a team and equally by themselves.
- Work on Incident & Request calls as assigned
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Carry out project work
- Microsoft Outlook configurations and set-ups
- Troubleshooting Windows 10 software and hardware
- Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies
- Experience of Windows 10
- Skilled in fault detection
- Good communication skills
- Good call management skills
- Driving license
Training will be provided where required and the client will provide vehicle, fuel card and all equipment.
The core hours for the team are 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday.
To be able to work in schools unsupervised requires a Disclosure Scotland PVG Check which will be facilitated by the client.
