Job description

We are delighted to be looking for a talented HR Assistant to join our team specialising in Human Resources for our Supply Chain HR Department in Huddersfield along with some remote home working.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Working 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support HR activities within a site, organisational unit, or department.

  • Assists in the deployment of a broad range of defined HR processes within the business.

  • Works within defined processes and procedures to provide HR support to employees and may help determine the appropriate resolution to common HR inquiries.

  • Works within defined HR processes to take appropriate action (e.g. compensation, benefits, performance management, exit interviews, relocation, and immigration support)

  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of workforce information in HR Information Systems, including employee files; conducts regular data-entry audits to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Coordinates and assists with internal audit requests.

  • Provides staffing and recruiting support; coordinates recruiting activities; updates the applicant tracking system, coordinates assessment testing where applicable, conducts reference checks for new hires; coordinates new hire orientation assignments and activities.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

  • Supports Supply Chain HR team in improvement of processes and implementation of critical projects

  • Experience working within a busy HR department with basic knowledge of employment legislation

  • Experience of Microsoft software packages is a must e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and independently.

  • Able to be trusted with highly confidential information.

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, exercising responsible judgement when appropriate.

  • Studying towards CIPD qualifications preferred but not essential
