Group Accountant, Worcester, 25 hours per week, 2-3 months, £28-33 per hour
Working for a successful leading business based across the UK and Europe, Toner Graham have an interim opportunity for a Qualified Accountant with strong technical accounting skills on a part-time basis.
The key purpose of the job is to ensure the Group's financial results reflect current accounting standards and best practice. Knowledge of Accounting Practices including IFRS is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of the Group's monthly consolidation and investigation of movements
Provision of Private Equity monthly returns, reconciliations and support with ad hoc requests
Preparation of monthly Group Bank reports and Group VAT returns, including Irish VAT returns and annual partial exemption recalculations for the Group
Responding to HMRC on VAT and other tax issues as appropriate
Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition in the monthly numbers across all revenue streams
Ensure internal controls are maintained and improvements identified as part of an internal audit process
Identification, calculation, documentation and implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements (e.g. IFRS 15 & IFRS 16 standards)
Preparation annual Group consolidation model, EBITDA and cashflow for all entities
Liaising with auditors during interim and main audits on all technical areas
Preparation and review of statutory accounts for all Group companies
Assist in the preparation and review of Group tax returns
Liaison with foreign entity accountancy firms regarding tax, VAT and statutory returns
Review of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with accounting policies
Support with entity setup and dissolution as required
The successful candidate for the job will be ACA / ACCA Qualified (or equivalent), have relevant experience in a similar role, knowledge of Accounting Practices including IFRS, experience of statutory Group consolidation, strong Excel knowledge, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and immaculate attention to detail.
The role will be home-based for until at least September, after which there may be a requirement to go into the office on occasion on a rota basis.
