Following a significant investment in a state of the art laboratory at the Alderley Park Biotech & Life Science Cluster, Sai Life Sciences is now creating a centre of excellence (COE) for process chemistry and analytical development. The COE will identify, develop and optimise synthetic routes to API, supporting both early and late development. It will also manufacture non-GMP kg quantities of intermediates and APIs in its bespoke Scale-up laboratory facility. The developed processes may then be transferred to Sai Life Sciences manufacturing sites across India.

The successful candidate will have a BSc or MSc in Chemistry (or will complete this qualification shortly), ideally with a year in industry in a relevant organisation..
The candidate is expected to conduct practical, laboratory-based chemistry experiments to develop routes and processes and then scale-up to manufacture.
§ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with relevant experience in a chemistry laboratory environment.
§ Hands-on experience and up-to-date knowledge of a range of organic chemistry transformations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
§ Design and conduct laboratory experimentation to deliver customer projects.
§ Deliver new routes and processes for early-phase APIs and intermediates to enable scale-up to 20L at Alderley.
§ Deliver optimised processes for mid and late-phase APIs and intermediates to enable scale-up to pilot and production facilities in India.
§ Work within multi-functional project teams operating to tight deadlines.
§ Implement and utilise new technologies and approaches to support chemistry projects
§ Solve complex scientific problems
