We are looking for a talented Associate Controls Engineer to join our team specialising in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Darlington.

This is a permanent role working Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week. Salary £38,057.


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • The Associate Controls Engineer provides a second level of support to assist the Maintenance technicians and Controls Engineer and provides the expertise to develop and implement new technology into the manufacturing process through improvement and capital projects.
  • Provide Controls expertise for shop floor systems development including programming of PLC's Robot / Cobot, Atlas Copco and Vision systems.
  • Help develop controls strategy for the Darlington site
  • Support and develop maintenance technician skills
  • Prepare software for equipment/process changes and fail safe control
  • Manage software and manufacturing change control processes
  • Develop production equipment/CMES interfaces
  • Develop and implement improvement and capital projects relating to control systems and new technologies



To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialised training and relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge applied to performing skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Works with relevant functions to select and utilise appropriate resources, tools, machinery, and speciality equipment.
  • Thoroughly understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.
  • Acts as a formal resource leading and coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment
