Apprentice Finance Assistant / Nottingham / £14000
I am recruiting for an Apprentice Finance Assistant to work within a fast-growing organisation based in the Lace Market area of Nottingham City Centre to support the growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a school leaver to join our successful and rapidly expanding business. The successful candidate will undertake an AAT apprenticeship and the role will see you assist with of the finances of the main business.
You will report to the Finance Manager who in turn reports direct to the Directors of the business. You will work closely with the Senior Management team to meet internal reporting requirements as well as the external accountants to assist with statutory reporting requirements.

Role & Responsibilities
The short-term day to day activities will see you shadow the Finance Manager to take on the purchase and sales ledger responsibilities, credit control, and bank reconciliations whilst carrying out your AAT studies.
The longer-term opportunities will see you through your studies, from AAT through either ACA, ACCA or CIMA depending on your preferences. In this timescale you will move up to a Financial Controller role where your responsibilities will be to assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns and payroll calculations.
Skills & Experience
No previous experience is necessary. The successful candidate will be well organised, able to communicate efficiently, and be a quick learner with the confidence and focus to work independently. You will also have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at C grade / Level 4 or above including Maths and English.
