Teaching in the UK - European Union Applicants

What you need to be able to teach in the UK:

A Recognised Teaching Qualification

To take up a teaching post in a school in England and Wales you will need to have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). EU rules mean that this is only automatically granted to EU citizens. Therefore as long as you are a fully qualified teacher in an EU country then you do have a recognised qualification and can be a supply teacher. Contact the DfEE. They will register you and assign you with a DfEE number.

Permission to Work in the UK

As an EU citizen, you have an automatic right to work in any EU country.
