Yes, through an enhanced disclosure check through the Criminal Records Bureau

How do you source supply teachers?

KES uses targeted recruitment strategies to reach individuals with the qualifications and experience to work as supply teachers. We use a range of proven methods which include both national and local press, internet job boards, advertising in our high street locations and refer a friend schemes.

Is KES responsible for a supply teacher’s performance once they are at a school?

All KES teachers have to follow our internal code of conduct which clearly outlines what standards are expected whilst on assignment. During the school day KES teachers are under the direction of the school management team. KES request detailed feedback at the end of each day on every teacher’s individual performance. Where appropriate all feedback is passed back to the teacher including any performance concerns that need to be raised. We also monitor and record individual teacher's continual professional development
