Quality Recruitment and Staffing

The Quality Mark was launched in July 2002, as a joint initiative between the Department of Education and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) to help drive up standards in the educational recruitment industry. It is a key indicator of good practice and is increasingly specified by LEA’s as a requirement for recruitment agencies supplying teachers. The standards required to achieve the Quality Mark are fairly stringent in order to ensure that schools, parents and pupils have confidence in their supply staff. As a result the Quality Mark provides both assurance and official recognition that the highest standards of recruitment practice are being adhered to. The ‘Quality Mark’ also ensures that teachers looking for work can select reputable agencies that will add value to their experience as supply teachers.
